Troubleshooting
your installation
To
install the program you need a copy of a utility to unzip a file.
Winzip is the most popular. You can download it from the . These instructions assume that you have this kind of
utility installed on your computer
- Create
a new folder on your computer - probably on your "C"
drive, and probably called "Quotes Program".
- Locate
the TPMQuotes.zip file on your computer (it'll be where you saved
it in the download process!).
- Double-click
on the file. That will fire-up your unzipping program.
- Extract
all the files to the folder you created in stage 1.
- There
are eight files - Quotes.exe; Quotes.hlp; readme.txt; quotes.CNT;
authorbase.txt; refbase.txt; quotesbase.txt & quotes.txt (note:
depending on how you're computer is configured you might not be
able to see the filename extensions - i.e., "exe", etc).
- To
start up the Quotes program, simply double click on the "Quotes.exe"
file (it's the one with books icon!).
- You
may, of course, create a shortcut to the program on your desktop
(e.g., right-click on the file, and choose Send To -> Desktop).
If
you have problems unzipping the file, then and we'll send them unzipped to you by email (approximately
900kb).
